The network is counting new episodes, according to the podcast count for the week ending May 12, which covers the NFL playoffs.
The podcast count also includes the podcast of the day, a podcast from the week before that, a series of podcasts from the day before that and the week of May 11.
In total, the network is adding about 20,000 episodes per week to its podcast count.CBSSports.com reached out to CBS to clarify its numbers, but was not immediately able to reach a representative for comment.
In the first half of the season, CBS has averaged over 20,00 new episodes per episode.
That number is down from around 23,000 in the second half of 2016.
In terms of the average of the first week of the NFL season, that number has been roughly 50,000.
